Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture; or equivalent experience. Consideration will be given to candidates which have achieved an equivalent level of experience inclusive of related/similar project work and education in addition to coursework in pursuit or attainment of a related professional certification for qualification including but not limited to: Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, PMP, LEED AP, NCIDQ, RICS.Experience:
o 10+ years of construction / design related experience.
o Experience with Property Condition Assessment (PCA) reports including adhering to ASTM-E2018, performing Acquisition/Disposition-type PCAs, as well as preparing Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae compliant reports.
o Familiarity with Residential, Commercial, and Industrial types of property.
o Working knowledge of building systems and components, with experience in condition evaluation including identification of immediate needs, short term needs, and capital reserve items as well as preparing cost estimates for recommendations.Skills:
o Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications. The following are preferred: Knowledge and experience performing Integrated Physical Needs Assessments, and/or HUD compliant PCAs. Experience in engineering design, construction oversight, and building forensics.
o Excellent communication.
o Client communication and expectation management.
o Time management.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Other Requirements:
o Mastery of the English language written and spoken
o Valid drivers license

o Ability to work from ladders
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Ability to work on multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously
o Possess strong project management skills, which will include setting up and conducting individual/team site inspections, travel to site, ordering and receipt of questionnaires and intake forms, request due diligence packages, FOIA request, Accessibility, Seismic, and Flood data compilation, organization of all paperwork, report preparation, and report delivery.
o Comfortable with semi-remote management by senior colleagues and/or upper management team.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will complete detailed reviews of pre-construction due diligence documentation; prepare comprehensive reports incorporating review of provided project which will provide accurate information and opinion of construction risks to clients; complete special projects as assigned by the management team; build and establish relationships with colleagues and existing and potential clients; promote a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, adapt, and overcome challenges; develop individual strengths and abilities to foster career growth. The field time associated with this position will vary depending on current assignments; travel range will span from Boston to Buffalo; will also have flexibility to perform work remotely as allowed by professional responsibilities. The ability to multi-task, manage several job reports, think critically, and meet deadlines are required skills for this position.
Review and assess construction and architectural agreements, plans, and specifications, hard cost budgets, and construction schedules, etc.Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction and recommend the release of construction funds.Determine physical needs to conduct work including building and roof access and ability to convey needs for physical equipment (ladders or other motorized equipment) the client will need to provide to conduct work.Travel throughout your region based on management needs with additional potential opportunities to travel to other regions.Frequent communication to clients and upper management regarding project status and overall workflow.Take lead role in report writing, and in coordinating team efforts for deliverables. Work with team members to develop / mentor junior level employees.Help build up the business in the area by meeting with clients.
