Speech Languauge Pathologist (Healthcare)
SLPs assess a patient's speech, language, and swallowing abilities. They may also use specialized tests and measuring devices.
SLPs develop individualized treatment plans to address a patient's specific needs. Treatment plans may include teaching patients how to improve their voice, make sounds, and maintain fluency. They may also prescribe speech-generating devices or modify a patient's diet.
SLPs provide training and education to patients, their families, and other professionals. They may also participate in research and the development of new therapy and testing techniques.
