Maintenance Assistant (Maintenance)
Assists with maintenance of a clean and sanitary facility by following a comprehensive cleaning program, which includes but is not limited to: regularly cleaning and sanitizing furnishings, fixtures, floors; cleaning of walls, windows, doors, ceilings, entrances, exits, horizontal surfaces, curtains, drapes, and privacy curtains; washing and disposal of waste and trash; spot cleaning and disinfection as needed.
Assist with addressing and properly reporting environmental services matters to supervisor/designee. Responsibilities include: reporting observations concerning safety issues, structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning equipment, supply and equipment needs. In an emergency, carries out responsibilities to assure resident and employee safety.
Maintains equipment and cleaning materials in performing responsibilities. This includes proper use of equipment, cleaning agents, and maintaining adequate knowledge of location and use of special and emergency equipment.
Ensures proper documentation is maintained. This includes but is not limited to: documentation of cleaning services, safety concerns, and measures taken to address the same, as well as other documentation required per facility policies, practices, and procedures.
Performs quality assessment and assurance functions, as directed, including but not limited to: auditing effectiveness of cleaning procedures, and regularly monitoring and inspecting quality of cleaning services.
Assists with development and update of environmental services, policies and procedures to reflect the philosophy of the facility, professional standards, and legal requirements.
Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, and with facility philosophy, policies and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm.
This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Meets state and federal requirements.
