Data Analysis & Lab Management Intern (Information Technology)

Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Data Analysis & Lab Management intern will work on data analysis tasks as well as assisting with lab management functions such as equipment set up and asset tracking. The successful candidate should be able to independently manage multiple concurrent projects while working effectively within a team environment. They should also possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with strong analytical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data for use by internal teams
- Assist in developing reports, dashboards, and other visualizations to present findings clearly and concisely
- Conduct statistical analysis using appropriate tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns in the data
- Apply machine learning algorithms where applicable to predict future outcomes or behaviors based on historical data
- Perform quality assurance checks on datasets before they are used in any decision-making processes
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent fields
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability theory, linear algebra, calculus, and computer programming (preferably Python)
- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau Prep Flows, Dashboard, etc.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively through written reports and presentations
- High level organizational skills required
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing priorities
