Engineering Change and ECAD Specialist (Engineering)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Summary
Viavi has an opening for an Engineering Change and ECAD Specialist who will be responsible for implementing engineering changes for Viavi Products. This position involves creating new ECAD files, modifying existing ones, and managing them through our manufacturing systems. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all necessary documentation is available to support quality control and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering change requests submitted by designers
  • Review engineering change notices for accuracy
  • Ensure proper routing of engineering change notices.
  • Coordinate the creation of ECAD files and modify existing ones as required.
  • Maintain and update component master data.
  • Resolve issues related to ECAD files, including compatibility problems between different versions.
  • Develop procedures and training materials for using the electronic document management system.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, CAD or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of electronics components and their functions.
  • Experience using Cadence library tools (DE-HDL/System Capture/Allegro) a Plus
  • Experience with component package types and package interchangeability and tradeoffs.
  • Experience reading mechanical and package dimensional drawings or electrical component datasheets.
  • Experience creating and maintaining schematic, PCB, and CAD libraries a Plus
  • Basic knowledge of electronic component functions, to aid the creation of functional schematic symbols.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
