Customer Service Representative (Administrative)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Customer Service Representative provides exceptional customer service by developing good working relationships with all customers within a given area. This position is responsible for completing accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to ensure that the flow of products meets customer demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all customers via telephone and email communication.
• Resolving service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Developing and maintaining a proficient working knowledge of all relevant order planning software.
• Obtaining, planning, and managing freight for approximately 20-40 trucks on a daily basis, while taking drivers' needs, total mileage (empty and loaded), location, rate, customer, and commodity into consideration.
• Communicating with drivers as needed.
• Answering "after hours" operations calls 4 weeks per year.
• Closing all delivered loads through each customer's respective website or portal.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree (4 year) or equivalent industry experience.
• Availability to work as needed, outside of a regular schedule.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Detail oriented, with ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office product suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
