The Program & Policy Analyst II (PPA II) position resides within Nemours Population Health Operations and will provide comprehensive analytical, project coordination, and operational support across Population Health programs. It will also help manage external opportunities such as potential external funding, grant writing, potential partnerships and collaborations, presentations and external reputational/academic activities and more. Population Health projects include areas of whole child health innovation such as digital health, population health management, community health partnerships and more, with a primary focus of improving prevention, healthcare access, and related areas of pediatric health and well-being.
This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a diverse array whole child health initiatives with a strategic and cooperative approach, while supporting the overall goals and priorities of the Office. The PPA II will have project-level decision-making authority under general oversight of senior management as well as receive input from and work collaboratively with Nemours staff on a wide array of strategies related to whole child health. The role will also be responsible for analyzing and evaluating child health issues and assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of Nemours whole child health priorities. Reporting to the Population Health Operations Manager, the PPA II will be a core member of the Population Health team, supporting the goals and priorities of the team as appropriate. The position requires flexibility, ability to multi-task, think strategically, and to work with multiple internal and external partners to achieve a shared vision and goals for complex projects. The position will require both strategic planning and implementation skills. Essential Functions -
Manage and Implement - Manage the day-to-day operations of a diverse array of internally and externally funded whole child health initiatives with a strategic and cooperative approach. Coordinate with other staff (as needed) to ensure the tasks and resources remain in the scope of the original plan. In addition, alert management to any issues or opportunities that could hinder or accelerate the work. Candidate may also initiate and manage contract(s) for services with targeted organizations and/or vendors. The incumbent will have project-level decision-making authority under general oversight of management with need for strong strategic thinking and action.
Research and Analysis - In consultation with other professionals, research and analyze initiatives focused on whole child health, and other topics of organizational priority both internal and external to Nemours. Help develop strategic recommendations for policy and practice initiatives, and for strategic partnership development. Research and analysis is completed under the general oversight of management.
Evaluation - Utilize project data, evaluation and outcome results to develop strategic recommendations for improvements to health promotion, population health and other topics to provide technical assistance. Evaluation is completed under the general oversight of management.
Collaboration and Communication - Utilize strong oral and written communication skills. Engage in and provide recommendations to support development, strategic partnerships and coalition-building efforts to enhance current and future initiatives. Serve as liaison to targeted partners in order to provide leadership, counseling, facilitation, and technical assistance to as appropriate. Represent Nemours at key planning forums with internal and external groups and partners. The associate may make presentations at strategic in-person or web-based forums to promote and accelerate the work. The associate will regularly attend events, activities, meetings or trainings - which may occur in the evenings and on weekends. Associate will work under the general oversight of management.
Continuous Improvement - Lead and assist in Continuous Improvement projects.
Writing - Contribute to or write reports, grants, or papers for the general public or professional publications under the direction of management. Prepare relevant materials and presentations under general supervision. Effectively tell the story of Nemours whole child health activities in a variety of writing formats to a variety of different audiences, technical and non-technical, internal and external. Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
Master's Degree Strongly preferred. Active pursuit of Master's degree will be considered
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an interdisciplinary healthcare or population health team
