Sanitation Worker (Manufacturing)

2nd shift position- Monday through Thursday 6:00pm to 4:30am with Overtime as needed.
This position is responsible for food safety and quality measures on the shift while working in conjunction with production schedules and shift management.
I. Essential Duties: List eight to ten of the most important duties using concise and cohesive statements. List the duties in order of importance and provide percentage of time. If less than 5% and not critical duties exclude or list as “other duties”.
1. Performs industrial cleaning/sanitation of the manufacturing facility and required manufacturing equipment. This includes, but is not limited to: Equipment, Floors, Walls, Windows/Ledges, Ceiling, Exterior Grounds/Equipment
2. Accurate recording and maintenance of cleaning/sanitation documents
3. Safe, effective operation of the ice blasting equipment
4. Knows when corrective action is necessary and initiate appropriate corrective action as necessary by contacting a supervisor
5. Maintains all cleaning/sanitation equipment in a clean and organized manner
6. Strives for continuous improvement of current Food Safety/QA systems and implementation of new systems
7. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices
8. Assists with custodial cleaning as needed
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to follow work instructions and procedures precisely and consistently with attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to accurately read, understand, and apply written Standard Operating Procedures and ongoing training/education
• Ability to perform thorough cleaning using a ladder and in hard to reach areas
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to be self-motivated with a focus for continuous process improvement
• Must have effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to accurately maintain a cleaning log daily
• Ability to accurately measure liquids
• Ability to drive a fork truck
• Ability to operate automated floor scrubbers (ride on and walk-behind

Physical Demand Characteristics:
Medium – Lifts 25 lbs. or less frequently; lifts 50 lbs. occasionally. Walks and/or stands most of the day. Bends and stoops frequently. Pulls/pushes equipment, carts, etc. on a regular basis. May also include the following: carries loads 25 feet or more on a regular basis.

While performing the responsibilities of the above job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
