The Applications Engineer manages all aspects and phases of physical security solution services in assigned projects. Serves as a subject matter expert in regards to video surveillance, physical access control, intrusion prevention, and other physical security technology applications. Promotes, creates awareness of, and provides training to security management and sales staff in regards to security system solution services. Consults on security system design issues with clients, vendors and colleagues. Ensures strong customer service by managing expectations, executing on commitments, and providing support throughout the client relationship cycle.
Essential Functions
• Work with clients, performing network maintenance, upgrades and implementations
• Assist other engineer with their responsibilities for large clients
• Assist team leaders and management as needed
• Configuration of physical security and supporting systems at a high level
• Technical oversight of project engineering and configuration tasks
• Documentation and end user training
• Serve as a subject matter expert
• Serve as a technical advisor
• Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting
• Develop on oversee project commissioning testing
• Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• At least 3 years of experience in similar position
• 3-5 years integration experience working with Cisco networking
• Experience with Windows 2008/12 servers, VMWare a plus
• CCNA required, CCNP preferred
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in network operating systems, desktop operating systems and communication protocols
• 3-5 years experience in VAR environments, a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Knowledge of routing protocols (EIGRP and OSPF)
• Ability to implement a route/switch network, including multiple VLANs

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require driving to project sites.
