Nemours is seeking a part-time, 24 hours per week, Courier Specialist. This position is responsible for: Pickup and Delivery of medical documents, refrigerated/frozen supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, specimens, ETC. for Nemours Children's Hospital Deliveries to all Nemours Satellite Locations including but not limited to the Lake Mary Clinic, LaVina Offices, 1717 Primary Care, Waterford Urgent Care, Melbourne Clinic, Lake Nona Urgent Care, Kissimmee Urgent Care, Lakeland and Winter Garden Clinics, and other designated locations as required. Courier will be responsible for identifying best and most efficient routes for safe Transportation of all items being delivered. Courier will also be responsible for communicating to management when the Nemours Courier Vehicle needs to be sent for regular Maintenance as well as preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Drive Nemours' Vehicle. Maintain and operate vehicle in proper and safe working condition.
Pickup and deliver required items. Determine best/safest and most expedient route based on traffic, road, and weather conditions.
Visually inspects shipment for any signs of damage or defect; records discrepancies or damages in shipment and notifies supervisor or buyer.
Must deliver all received items to the requisitioner/designated locations in accordance with instructions.
Maintain accountability of items in possession. Accurately recording incoming and outgoing items.
Coordinates items for shipment by commercial conveyance by preparing bills of lading and/ or other documents as required.
Maintain a good, clean driving record. Possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
Make scheduled runs as applicable. Be responsive to customers and their delivery requirements
Must be familiar with standard safety practices and demonstrate those abilities in daily assignments.
Complete Web-Based Training on Hazardous Materials-Infectious & Biological Substances (22991) and Acquire Public Passenger Endorsement.
