Regional Sourcing Manager (Project Management)
SUMMARY:
The person in this position is responsible for overseeing the regional sourcing decisions and requirements for the American Region of G&W including the vehicle and equipment fleets, local sourcing needs of the railroads, and supporting the administrative procurement process within the system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with local railroad management teams to ensure sourcing strategies and decisions achieve overall objectives and to ensure their business requirements are taken into consideration
Be responsible for the selection, negotiation, and execution of sourcing, including implementation of supplier partnering agreements
Develop and implement plans for process changes in support of continuous improvement initiatives for operations; optimize the relationship of contracts and one-time purchases in a manner that minimizes administration and reduces overall expense
Support regional team with purchase order requests and goods receipts in the system
Process all new and renewed registrations, titles, plates and vehicle cards for over 900 vehicles
Maintain Emkay database by processing additions, transfers and disposals; oversee annual fixed asset audit
Coordinate asset sale and disposals with accounting and operations teams
Process all information requests from Emkay and other departments
Assist vehicle expense approvers by reviewing unusual and large maintenance and repair requests
Review monthly summary invoice
Complete sales and use tax filings as needed
Audit expenses against market costs
Assist regional managers with annual capital planning for vehicle and equipment consolidation and replacement
Manage relationships, reporting, and decision-making between purchasing, railroads, and regional departments to ensure compliance with new rates, supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, policies, and procedures
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Two to five years of accounting, finance, purchasing or analyst work experience is a plus
Vehicle/mechanical knowledge is a plus
Strong organization and prioritization skills to balance multiple deadlines and requests
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and develop alternative solutions
Good interpersonal and communications skills; ability to focus on resolving conflict, speak and write clearly and persuasively, listen to get clarification, and respond well to questions
Ability to build trust by treating customers, peers, and others with integrity and respect, upholding organizational values, and keeping commitments
Ability to work as part of a team, balancing team and individual responsibilities and contributing to building a positive team spirit; ability to support everyone's efforts to succeed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is preferred
Strong Microsoft Office experience in Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
Experience in Microsoft D365 is a plus
