Senior Associate, Manager Selection (Finance)

Investment Management - InvestmentsPrudential Select Strategies LLC (PSS), a registered investment adviser, is a unit of the Global Chief Investment Office, which conducts asset and liability management and portfolio construction for all of Prudential's domestic and international business operations. PSS is responsible for managing over $15.0 billion in assets, comprised of private equity, hedge funds, real estate and other investments in alternative credit and direct lending strategies.
PSS is seeking an investment professional to join its Manager of Managers function, who will support asset manager selection, due diligence and monitoring traditional asset and alternative credit (e.g. fixed income, public equities, structured credit) mandates on behalf of the insurance general accounts. In this role, the candidate will support both internal and external asset manager relationships. The candidate will be a key member of the Manager of Managers function which supports Prudential's general account investment strategy.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
• Retain superior asset managers in order to achieve investment objectives;
• Work with the ALM Portfolio Strategy team to determine and develop mandates, benchmarks and investment guidelines for asset managers;
• Manage the process of identifying and evaluating asset managers;
• Make recommendations regarding hiring and terminating asset managers;
• On-board asset managers;
• Oversee asset managers' performance to confirm it is in accordance with contractual arrangements;
• Coordinate informational and analytical requests made of asset managers, including information for performance measurement and risk management purposes.
• 6+ years of relevant investment experience; insurance company experience required
• Asset manager selection and due diligence experience preferred
• Experience in fixed income asset management and structured products strongly preferred
• Knowledge of investment documentation, accounting and taxation; understanding of US insurance regulatory requirements strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• MBA or equivalent degree and/or CFA a plus
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $150,000 to $185,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
