Advancement Research and Database Manager (Information Technology)
The annual salary range for this position is at $52,117 - $69,489. We take into consideration an individuals background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package for full-time includes a wide range of benefits (medical, dental, life, disability, and more) as well as generous paid time off and free membership. Part-time benefits will vary. 1. Job Summary: The Advancement Research and Database Manager is responsible for evaluating and identifying prospects for the YMCA of the Norths fundraising efforts and maintaining and organizing constituent information in the database. Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the advancement database and provides proactive and reactive prospect research on individuals, family foundations, and corporations communicating this information to appropriate fundraising team members. Contributes to maximizing the fundraising potential of all aspects of the Mission Advancement Team. 2. Essential Functions: Identify, develop, analyze and maintain information on prospects by developing relevant data from internal and external sources such as via data mining techniques, wealth metrics, biographical information, demographic information, and other relevant information. Prepare donor profiles to be used in prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies. Organize and maintain prospect records and files, including continuous maintenance of accurate database and central files with special attention to improving the depth, accuracy, and relevancy of program alumni data. Proactively tracks and disseminates donor and prospect related information. Monitor news and publicly available financial information on prospects from SEC filings, press releases, Google alerts and major newspapers. Monitor contact and internal giving reports for potential new prospects for major and annual fund giving. Collaborate with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, conducts quarterly portfolio review meetings to advise on portfolio composition, discuss portfolio activity and prospect identification needs. Compile and disseminate pertinent, accurate and verifiable data about groups of donors into standardized reports and lists. Manage, update, and create fundraising reports, mailing and email lists. Responsible for the management and integrity of constituent data, taking the lead on all augmentation (importing constituent data as needed), clean-up of existing data and continuing to ensure data is current, consistent, accurate, accessible, and useful. Provides analysis and makes recommendations for segmentation efforts. Pulls and maintains appeal lists. Evaluate and continuously improves data procedures including establishing a standard audit routine and monthly reconciliations between Development and Finance. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and upholds the Donor Bill of Rights and other ethical standards. Maintain knowledge and understanding of the YMCA of the Norths mission, programs and fundraising needs. Stay current of changes and new developments in the field of development research. 3. Relationships: This position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement Operations who reports to Senior Vice President of Philanthropy. The incumbent interacts regularly with branch and Association level staff while providing support for YMCA business processes and improvement needs within Mission Advancement. 4. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Five (5) years of experience in prospect research, prospect management, development, or a related information field and demonstrated database experience using Raisers Edge or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System. Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills. Advanced proficiency in conducting donor research, with experience in recognizing and assessing wealth indicators and giving capacity as well as identifying prospects. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Collaborative style and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to work independently and proactively while keeping supervisor apprised of issues, opportunities and progress. Excellent critical thinking skills, detail oriented, show eagerness toward prospect research. High degree of integrity, ethical decision-making, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to clearly represent the mission of the YMCA. Preferred: Membership in Apra, AASP or other non-profit membership organization, that promotes and supports professionals in the field of prospect development. Bi/multilingual. 5. Work Conditions: Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to travel locally and nationally for meetings and special events. 6.
