This newly created nursing position will align research and evidence informed clinical care with patient safety and quality outcomes. They will be responsible for increasing the knowledge and skills of nursing staff related to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and implementation strategies. They will collaborate to enhance research and grant applications, and lead dissemination efforts internally and externally. This leadership position will ensure the continued execution and evaluation of a program of evidence-based nursing practice that is clinically based, aligned with Nemours Strategy, and developed in collaboration with nurses, other health care providers and researchers. Visionary leadership includes strategic planning, ensuring evidence-based care delivery and sustainability, and benchmarking quality patient care service outcomes. This position will support clinical nurses and other associates at all levels in the development of academic and scholarly projects and will work closely with the Co-Directors of Nursing Research department. Previous experience with professional writing, involvement and leadership in research/quality improvement programs and involvement in local and/or national nursing organization initiatives. Doctoral level education is preferred, but experienced individual with Master degree will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Has demonstrated expertise in patient safety, quality, and outcomes in clinical settings.
Advance a body of work that aligns evidence-based care with patient outcomes.
Supports research and engagement in evidence-based practice across the enterprise through collaboration and leadership efforts.
Assists with the development of department infrastructure and oversees programs that educate and mentor nurses and patient care associates in the conduct of evidence-based practice, presentation, and publication.
Leads efforts to create internal and external peer reviewed publications and presentations.
Provides Mentorship for nurses (across the enterprise) to evaluate and implement appropriate evidence-based practice within patient care services.
Promotes a professional practice environment by fostering a spirit of inquiry, scholarship, evidence-based practice, and implementation science.
Provides leadership for the Nursing Research Council and represents nursing on various Nemours research and quality improvement boards and committees.
Participates in appropriate professional organizations and maintains appropriate certifications.
Must be able to work well with others.
Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:
Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure Required
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
More than 5 years experience as an RN in a clinical setting, preferably in clinical research; 3 years of experience in a nursing leadership role
Master's degree required; RN, DNP or Ph.D. with appropriate experience and skills preferred
