Field Network Engineer (Finance)
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be located within Detroit, MI or be willing to relocate to the location. This position may require travel in the US.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
At least 4 years of Information Technology experience
Experience in configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of multi-disciplinary technological communication network topologies such as wireless mesh nodes and gateways, cellular routers, sub-GHz 900MHz AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) CPE (customer premises equipment), Wimax SMs (subscriber module radios), P2P (point-to-point) microwave radios/Aps (access points) and long haul CWDM/DWDM Ciena 6500 based optical backbone networking platform
Experience in configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of all Tropos Wireless Mesh devices. Supports AMI, Pole Tops, Smart Grid Communications
Experience in configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of cellular Digi Gateways
Experience in Installation and Operational support for all LAN/WAN physical links (including both trunked and wireless layers 1-4 links) including afterhours support for critical sites
Experience in Installation and Operational Support for all Cisco 802.11 Wireless Access Points
Provide Installation and Operational support for all Network Projects and Hardware at DDC and ADC include copper and fiber cabling/patch/diagnosis.
Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support for various communications equipment. Includes 900MHz AMI smart mesh end points, Wimax, Microwave, Tropos mesh radio nodes/gateways, Cisco carrier grade routers and switches, peripheral devices, and related infrastructure.
Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support.
Expert level usage and administration of industry standard GUI based tools such as ServiceNow & Microsoft Sharepoint

Demonstrate technical problem-solving skills on a consistent, regular basis
Automation ideas and implementation
Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support for large scale utility stations, sub-stations and network hub sites involving carrier grade Cisco switches/routers, wireless nodes and RTUs (remote terminal units)
Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support for all field network equipment
Flexible & Proactive Technical and Operational support on a daily basis
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
