ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Center for Victim Advocacy & Violence Prevention (CVAVP) is part of the Health and Wellness Unit within Student Success. Our office fosters a safe, supportive community through innovative primary prevention programs, trauma-informed survivor empowerment, and compassionate, confidential services to USF students, faculty, and staff who have experienced crime, violence, or abuse.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Violence Prevention Coordinator is an integral part of a collaborative team that leads violence prevention initiatives for USF Tampa campus. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Violence Prevention, the coordinator will develop, facilitate, and evaluate primary prevention programming for a diverse population of students. This position will play a key role in training student peer educators and leaders, including by supervising the Violence Prevention internship program. The coordinator will support departmental outreach efforts by designing messaging campaigns and educational resources. By cultivating and strengthening campus and community partnerships, the coordinator will enhance collaboration with students, faculty, and staff toward a common goal of creating a safer, more supportive USF community. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of power-based violence and primary prevention strategies and will have experience developing and facilitating trainings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Campus Programming
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Communication, Sociology, Criminology, and Education and 1-3 years of work experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree and 1-3 years of experience.
