Sr Cost Accountant (Finance)
This position is a key member of the Finance team coordinating monthly cost accounting activities, assisting operations and supporting inventory functions within the company. Required characteristics for success in this position include being highly organized, detail and deadline oriented, and team focused while possessing the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs cost accounting activities, including valuation of inventory and variance analysis
• Calculates labor, machine center, and overhead rates used for product and job costing
• Develops and maintains forward pricing rates used in quote submissions
• Ensures adherence with GAAP, FAR, DFARS and CAS
• Develops and prepares the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statement (DS-1) for compliance with federal regulations, documenting accounting practices and cost allocation methods
• Supports internal, external, and customer audits
• Assists Operations with cost savings initiatives including implementation, analysis and reporting
• Supports period close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensures completeness of the cycle count program
• Expected to be actively engaged with the organization's culture of teamwork, velocity, and integrity
• Other duties and special projects, as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of five years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with and firm knowledge of defense contracting regulations and compliance requirements (FAR, DFAR, CAS)
• Must be proficient in MS Office tools; strong Excel skills required
• Proficient in use of an ERP computer software package; Infor Visual experience strongly preferred
• This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
