SUMMARY This position plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods within a warehouse or plant. It handles, moves, and stores various materials, ensuring efficient operations and accurate inventory management. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Demonstrates proficiency in all warehouse or stockroom operations such as receiving, order picking, storage, packaging, shipping, inventory control, record-keeping, data input, and material distribution. Assists in maintaining the flow of work and materials based on scheduled deliveries and orders. Ensures accurate and timely computer and physical transactions and verifying transaction accuracy. Operates equipment such as pallet jacks and scales for material dispersal and movement, potentially responsible for equipment calibration. Prepares, marks, labels, and packages materials according to customer specifications. Maintains orderly, clean, and safe work areas, including visual controls. Performs under the Lean Management principles and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, FAA, ITAR) related to shipping and receiving. Improving inventory accuracy through cycle counts or other validation measures. Collaborating with internal departments to address missing packages, incorrect deliveries, damaged products, etc., to support the team. *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES While material handlers often start as support staff, there is room for career advancement. A willingness to complete the Basics of Supply Chain Management module of the APICS (or equivalent) within two years of employment is preferred. JOB SKILLS Accurate record-keeping and precise handling of materials are essential. Engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee will regularly engage in activities like fingering, handling, or feeling and communicating verbally.
