PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To provide support for the Safety Department and the Safety Manager by assisting with the planning, administration, implementation, and monitoring of all safety programs. In addition, this position will be instrumental in facility safety inspections, vehicle inspections, training, and any other safety-related functions.

Education : Bachelor's degree in related field with minimum of 4 years safety experience or similar experience.

Physical : Must be physically fit to meet the demands of the position. Must have the ability to travel to various facilities, enter / exit trucks and other motor vehicles.
Other : Strong Microsoft office knowledge, strong analytical skills, well organized, self-motivated, excellent interpersonal relationship skills, above average understanding of Safety Culture Initiatives, OSHA regulations, MSHA regulations, EPA regulations and DOT regulations.

In addition, this position will be instrumental in facility safety inspections, vehicle inspections, training, and any other safety-related functions.\n \n \nDIMENSIONS:\n \n28 locations\n \n3000 certificates of insurance\n \n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n\nResponsible for all customer requests for Certificates of Insurance\nProvide guidance/audits for all locations to help Gregory Poole achieve its corporate commitment to Safety and Health\nWork closely with the Safety and Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations\nFacilitate/ assist with safety training for New Hire Orientation\nFacilitate/ assist with Safety Mentor training\nAssist the Safety Manager, the Sales Department, and the Finance Department with the completion of Customer Safety Questionnaires\nWork with branch personnel to provide guidance on safety-related questions or issues\nPerform Safety Inspections at all branches- evaluate the procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and/or safety violations.\nPropose and implement safeguards and solutions and follow up on the corrective actions \nMaintain and follow through on all record keeping/ documentation\nAssist appropriate managers/ outside investigation groups with accident investigations\nConduct Safety Training Compliance\nAssist the Safety manager with OSHA and MSHA logs and reporting\nReview, monitor, and update as necessary The Substance Abuse Prevention Program\nManage the third-party safety qualification portals (ISNetworld, Avetta, Appruv, etc.)\nCoordinate annual safety awards programs\nManage computer-based safety training, maintain documentation\nManage MSHA New Miner and annual refresher training classes\nProvide safety performance updates and other safety communications to GP employees and Executives\nManage and execute all activities related to the collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste\nManage "Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure" program\nReact to and manage environmental discharges\nPerform other related duties as assigned\n\n \n \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\n \nEducation: Bachelor's degree in related field with minimum of 4 years safety experience or similar experience.\n \nWork Experience: \nSee above\n \nPhysical: Must be physically fit to meet the demands of the position.
