Analyst, Cost Accounting (Finance)

The Position

Position Function: This position reports to the Finance Manager of Cost Accounting and Operations Analysis and will provide technical accounting, and financial reporting support to the ASD corporate division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support for ASD-Operator Group's business planning process. Includes annual budget planning, monthly forecasting process, interim estimates, strategic planning process, fixed asset maintenance, and cost center reporting.
• Development, reporting, and analysis of key operating measurements and variances both Corporate and Divisional. Measurements that will focus our business leadership and Cross Functional Teams on major opportunities for improvement.
• Lead standard cost accounting policy setting and annual cost roll.
• Coordinate physical inventory activities across multiple locations.
• Provide support and analysis for our Operation's team including manufacturing, procurement and logistics.
• Responsibility for capital budgeting/planning process, capital appropriation/expenditure tracking, and post audit analysis.
• Assist in upgrading our financial reporting/analysis system to streamline data collection, provide reporting flexibility, and generate improved analytical tools.
• Assist in monthly financial statement close (various journal entries; account reconciliation's; load financial data into Hyperion Enterprise/Essbase reporting system; back up staff accountant for a/p, a/r, g/l and fixed asset systems).
• Assist with General Ledger maintenance.
• Special projects as assigned to improve business processes and provide value-added analysis.

Other Responsibilities

Requires excellent spreadsheets/database skills.

Experience with an integrated ERP system and data warehouse applications would be a plus.Skills/Experience Requirements

• New graduate to 3 years related experience in manufacturing required
• Strong systems skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience with Oracle, JD Edwards, Hyperion or AS400 is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
• Results and deadline oriented, strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to identify process improvements, ability and desire to take action
• Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills.

• Bachelors of Accounting or Finance required.
• Masters degree and/or professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
