Executive Director (Administrative)
STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT: Develops an approved strategic plan and identifies business strategies that will achieve desired results. Ensures the organizational systems and processes support the strategic imperatives. Ensures that employees have the necessary skills and attitudes necessary to identify and solve problems for customers both internal and external. Manages all organizational activities so that quality services are provided in an efficient and effective manner. Removes obstacles that interfere with employees ability to deliver quality service.
LEADERSHIP: Sets example for excellence through all actions and inspires commitment in others. Makes clear performance demands on people, empowers and holds staff accountable. Demonstrates the ability to function in a mentoring role, by providing guidance and being a sounding board. Fosters self reliance through coaching and developmental approaches. Is highly visible and demonstrates the ability to communicate persuasively both orally and in writing. Communication style promotes confidence and enthusiasm and encourages collaboration.
FISCAL MANAGEMENT: Develops organizational budget within designated deadlines and in accordance with all financial policies and procedures. Utilizes all financial resources within established budget in an effective manner. Notifies Board of Directors in advance of any and all variances necessary to maintain organizational services. Recommends appropriate operational adjustments when necessary. Meets financial goals and objectives.
EMPLOYEE/COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Is able to establish strong community relationships and is perceived as being highly responsive to local issues related to elderly and child care. Demonstrates the ability to develop a high degree of community confidence and trust. Ensures effective employee relations within the organization in order to achieve and maintain quality services and a positive employee relations atmosphere. Institutes morale building practices and/or programs. Utilizes participative management strategies and solicits employee input. Practices creative problem solving by encouraging suggestions, task force/committee formation and other forms of employee involvement.
Education and/or Experience:
Evidence of leadership skills in a retirement, nursing care and day care setting
Strong financial background in a not-for-profit environment
Four to Ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability to write and read simple sentences in English.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
