Senior Accountant (Finance)
Responsible for timely and accurate accumulation and reporting of company financial information and providing company management with that information in various standard and requested formats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant position performs the following duties under limited supervision:
• Enters, reviews and verifies, journal entries across company ledgers
• Verifies financial information and ensures its accuracy and completeness with an attention to detail
• Analyzes financial information and possesses the ability to identify and explain account variances
• Calculate management fees and amounts owed to and/or due from property owners in accordance with contractual agreements
• Reconciles both bank and general ledger accounts with the ability to research complex variables, make recommendations, and use good judgement when executing resolutions
• Ability to interpret complex lease agreements, and GAAP/FASB requirements, when determining amounts owed to landlords
• Responds to management and operational questions regarding financial reporting
• Ability to use analytical abilities in identifying errors and corrective actions aligned with GAAP
• Demonstrates a willingness, desire, and ability to coach, mentor, and develop Staff Accountants and Specialists.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Other special projects as assigned by Director or Accounting Supervisors.
Minimum Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Established experience in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook and financial software system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, etc.)
• Excellent oral (including formal presentations) and written communications and comprehension skills required.

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Established experience in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook and financial software system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, etc.)
• Excellent oral (including formal presentations) and written communications and comprehension skills required.
Performance Standards
This position will receive an annual performance review from the direct supervisor to discuss actual performance as compared to company stated expectations and agreed upon job related performance goals for the upcoming year.
