DUTIES:
The University of South Florida (USF), Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) is seeking MD and/or PhD applicants for the position of Vice Chair of Research, Department of Radiology. Appointment will be at the rank of Associate or full Professor depending on qualifications. This position is designed for a clinical or basic science scientist who will be instrumental in driving the research mission of USF through research collaboration, innovation, and a patient centric culture.
The Vice Chair of Research will oversee imaging research across the outpatient and inpatient settings which includes Tampa General Hospital, a 1200+ bed, level 1 quaternary academic medical center, and TGH Imaging, a network of 22+ outpatient imaging facilities. The Department and its faculty are also affiliated with additional sites including, Moffitt Cancer Center, James A. Haley VA, Bay Pines VA, and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
The Department of Radiology department is currently enrolled in 160+ clinical trials, 13 NIH sponsored trials, and runs a world-renowned 3D anatomic printing lab. The successful applicant will develop best practices in managing imaging research across the enterprise and partner with faculty to support and mentor our trainees which include 24 diagnostic radiology residents, 8 interventional radiology residents, 12+ advanced imaging fellows, and medical students interested in radiology.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor
