Department Manager, Surface Water (Finance)
Michael Baker International is seeking a Department Manager to lead our Surface Water Group in the Great Lakes Region. The Surface Water Department resides within the focused Water Practice within our Pittsburgh, PA Office and represents a dedicated business line that is focused on public and private drainage systems, BMP design, NPDES permitting, H&H Analysis, as well as the assessment and design of high hazard dam facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for building Michael Baker International's role throughout the nation while supporting our project teams and client base that we service. As part of Michael Baker, the opportunity also exists for the successful candidate to interface with other water focused practices across the company to share resources and best practices across a larger water community.
Our projects involve supporting the Public and Private sectors with a focus design and assessment of spillways, penstocks, and other dam structure components; stormwater collection and conveyance systems; natural channel design; and bridge hydraulics, scour, floodplain evaluation projects. Candidates should also be experienced with permitting processes through agencies such as Dam Safety, FERC, and Army Corps of Engineers and State DOTs. A willingness and ability to travel within western Pennsylvania and the Great Lakes region on an as needed basis is required. This is a unique opportunity to oversee all aspects of a water resources engineering business with a diverse project / client base that has the potential for significant growth. Primary responsibilities include operational oversight, technical thought leadership, staff development, business and strategy development, client management, profit and loss and leadership.

The approximate annual compensation range for this position is $120k - $200k. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
